P1 Wimax vs TM Streamyx

There is always the pros and cons on both Wimax and Streamyx. Malaysian been using Streamyx since 2001. The company holds a near monopoly for Internet service in Malaysia, largely because almost all the connections in the country are owned by TM Bhd. We had no other choices but to accept Streamyx. No matter how bad the service and speed provided by Streamyx but we are still using it, still paying the monthly subscription unwillingly. However, TM Bhd will compensate if they failed to deliver their promises, nevertheless how many times will / can u complain?

Well, this long waited wimax has finally in town! However there is still no perfection. First, not everywhere coverage yet. 2ndly, apartment higher than 6th floor will have signal problem, some of them need to place the modem at the window. 3rdly, this is the funniest criteria that I ever heard, Wimax’s modem need a “fengshui” place in order to get full bar of signal! I know, you guys will gonna say “Streamyx too”. But this “fengshui” is not like once u found it, it will be the good fengshui forever. Absolutely NOT! It is after been awhile of using it at the so called “fengshui” place, u may need to switch for another good fengshui, cause the signal will suddenly go haywire. Isn’t it funny? Well, people will still prefer and accepted Wimax than Streamyx. Lastly, cloudy weather (before the heavy rain), you see signal interuption (like Astro, but of course this wimax is much better than Astro).

Since both is about the same to have this pros and cons, why are people still rather go for Wimax? Don’t forget, in order to achieve the satisfaction, you need to subscribe at least Home-Plus package (RM99 / month). If you like to play online game or download lots of movie and series, Home-Plus package may be not sufficient. Then, you may need to look for Home-Pro package, which will cost you RM199. If you ever call to their call-center, I think P1 and TM has not much different in term of customer service, both deserve the big slap!

With all these cons (many of the users knew about it), when you ask people about Wimax and Streamyx, which one will you prefer? The answer will still go to “Wimax”. Not that Wimax is good or better than Streamyx, to me, both are about the same. But why the answer will still go to “Wimax”?

Legal Issue on Contract Law in Malaysia

Legal Issue on Contract Law in Malaysia - Good for us to know

Do you notice that most of the time, the receipt / invoice you received from the merchant carries this exclusion clause or similarly worded statement: "Goods sold are not returnable" or "No refund once sold".

Please remember that : "As long as your goods is purchased for home use and not for business ( i.e. to be resold), the above exclusion clause is VOID. That means, as long as the good is defective, regardless of what is worded, you CAN get back all your money spent . You do not have to accept a repair on the good or an exchange. You CAN ask for a refund. AND you are LEGALLY right and entitled to! And most of the time the merchant will refuse to return you your money.

You may threaten the merchant with four words: "SEE YOU IN COURT!" The court here refers to the Small Claims Tribunal Court. Any goods which is worth RM25,000 and below can apply to this Court. However, you don't have to tell them what court! All you have to pay is RM10 admin fee and the loser (the merchant) will have to refund you the money PLUS the admin fee!

I have seen that most educated people are cowed by such unfair wordings (which includes a few of my friends). Pls try not to let the merchant fleece you the next time you have defective goods. You can file this On the 16th floor of Putra Place (The Mall opposite Putra World Trade Centre) . The form cost RM5.00. The Tribunal will settle within 2 months period.

Life is a life

Is it god bring me to safe its life? Or this is what I owed it in my previous life? Usually I go to the Belly dance class by using the other road, but due to the road looks very jam, hence I was using the alternative. Right at the exits I saw a dog lying in the middle of the road and still alive. It is a highway (Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah (Pesta) )and it was during rush hour. Also there was another car behind me. However, I just feel that I can’t just go away. Therefore I reversed my car, and asking the car behind me to give way
I went to ask help from a nearby Vet. He is a nice Vet, I know him due to he is my dogs’ Vet, both Snoopy and Fei Fei. At first, I have a feeling he may refuse to help as it is a stray dog. Even though until now, I believe it was an obligation to him. I guess he might feel bad to refuse me as he knows me. The second he saw me, right away told me he has appointment so gotta be quick, and actually I got Belly dance class too.
When I and the doc returned to the place, I didn’t see the dog in the middle of that highway anymore. I that second, I feel good, means the dog was ok therefore he has run away. But, before I wanna make a u-turn to fetch the doc back to his clinic, he saw the dog lying on the pedestrian walk. The Vet recognize the dog as it belong to the workshop. The Vet found that the dog is quite serious, as his mouth bleeding, and also his back legs has no feeling, suspect also it spinal severe injured. He also suspect that the dog’s head got hurt severely and causing the mouth bleeding, if it is true about what the doc said, the dog has only 48hrs. But before we wanted to carry him back to the clinic, it suddenly stand up and ran away from us. So, I went to talk to the workshop owner and had confirmed that the dog belongs to him. After I told him about what has happened to his dog, he doesn’t seem very concern, I guess he just treat it as a stray dog and let it be as whatever it is instead of spending money to safe it’s life. Dr. Joshua had the same thoughts too. Instead of asking him to take the dog to clinic for X-ray, he asked the owner to look after the dog look for 6 months, and make sure don’t let it moving around.
Dr. Joshua was very nice for giving the medi to the owner FOC. But I insist to pay him, as he is not from SPCA, he had already kind enough to go with me to help the dog. He refused to accept my money and asked me to get the owner come to pay him. But both of us know that it is impossible. After the “hoo-ha” for awhile, he decided to give me a discount, and its cost me RM31.00. I gave the medi to the dog owner, he shown that he wanna pay me back, but I refuse but want him to promise to take good care of his dog.
I hope that the dog is recovering and get well soon.

To our dearest police force

What a “great” routine road block that I had experienced. It was happened at the coastal highway nearby Queensbay Mall, if no mistaken it was on 20 Jun, Saturday. The road block is by the police force and not the traffic force. The highway has 3 lanes and the police closed two lanes for the purpose of inspection. Because of that it caused a very serious traffic jam. When I was caught into this jam, I thought “oh gosh! Must be a very serious accident right in front, otherwise it will not cause this serious jam.” That’s right, especially during weekend, you will hardly see this highway in this situation. Because most of the factories in the FTZ industrial zone are closed, and also it was not during the peak hour.
When my car approaching the blocking, I got mad! I saw the police walking around in the two closed lanes, and also chit-chating with each other. They were very relax, didn’t seems like holding a big operation. All the cars just pass thru the block without getting check, or the police didn’t even have a look of the car. Does a theft have a sign on the face? Does a problem car have a sign on the car? If without checking or have a look of the car, can the police tell who is bad and who is good? I believe that they were there “just because of instruction”. They never consider about the jam that they had caused. I was in the jam for around 30mins for the distance of 200 to 300meter.
If they are on duty for the big operation, can u expect this police force to help in reduce crime rate? Hahaha……

5 Star Hospital with 1 star service

Specialist Center! Specialist Service! What a 5 Star hospital! May be the doctors are good, may be the nurses are good, may be they are some good and bad, may be just too difficult to find perfection. But this a hospital and not a hotel, a minor mistake shouldn't be allowed. This is not just the money matter, this is about human life.

This morning, one the PD (she is a good doctor) of this hospital was taking my baby's blood for some tests. I didn't really know what are these tests for, just know that the appointment has been fixed since last month, I guess it is just a routine, when baby till certain age needs to be tested. Partly was due to my baby had some mosquito bites over her face and body, and got fever two days ago for on and off, and found red rashes over her body even on her face. Doc worried that it may be dengue, therefore she suggested to do extra test for the dengue. I didn't have to stay to wait for the result, as the doc will call to inform me.

I was so careless to left my cellphone in my office. By the time I got back to pick it up was already 4pm. And there is a missed call from this hospital. It is Saturday and the clinic open till 1pm. Therefore the receptionist (Miss Lim Lian See, a fuck up receptionist) just tell me off of course politely but does it means that polite means u have done nothing wrong, does it mean that u r giving good customer service? What if my baby had dengue? Do you think my baby can wait till Monday?

This is what I talked to her over the phone:
Me : "I got this missed call from Dr. XX, and I believe she wanted to tell me about my baby's blood test result."

Miss Lim : "Sorry, our clinic has closed."

Me : "Is there anyway I can check whether the blood test is ok?"

Miss Lim : "I know, but the clinic has closed, Dr. XX has gone back, the nurses also gone back."

Me " Look, one of the test of this blood test is to check whether my baby have dengue. I have only one miss call from Dr. XX, does it means that my baby is ok?"

Miss Lim : " But the clinic has already closed."

Me : "This is about my baby's life. Doc suspected that my baby may get dengue, therefore she said she will call to inform me the test result. Since she didn't really try hard to find me, does it means that my baby is ok? Or is there anyway that I can check for my baby's blood test result?"

Miss Lim : "ok, let me put u to the sister on duty."
(WHAT?! See...at least this is a way she can try at the beginning, and not wait till I suggested for an alternative, she is a staff of this hospital, she know better than me on how to help a customer or patient! Sadly, she didn't even put in the effort, she just hope that I will just hang up and that's is.)

Later I got a great assistance from this Sister! She got my baby's name and my phone number, she called up Dr. XX and returned my call to let me know that my baby's blood test is ok!

What if I really hang up due to the "clinic has closed" and my bb got dengue? What if my baby's life in danger? Sue the hospital for compensation? Useless....money can not buy "life'! But I think the responsibility is not fully by the hospital, this Miss Lim Lian See has more responsibility on this! This is life, I think she is not really suitable to work in this line eventhough just a job as a receptionist! As long as you are working in a hospital, no matter what position you are, what role you are, and what status you are, you have full responsibility of anything that fall under your role, eventhough you are just a cleaning aunty!

The best customer service?!

My XeLL laptop's wireless card was having problem again. Yea, that's right, again, cause this is the second time. Before I report the faulty issue I have called to confirm that my warranty is still valid. Yes, still valid till this coming August. Till this point, the CSO's attitude is still ok.

I called up again on the next day to file the report. As their job, they have to check whether I have done the possibility methods to recover the problem. Then follow by suggestion. There is one thing I found it silly is, she has suggested to me to purchase something that is kind of like "service" or "software" or "warranty which will cost me another RM100. This RM100 is 24/7 service that I can call in anytime, and I will get on-phone support to get people to teach me on how to format my laptop. WTH? RM100 to learn the "how to format the laptop?" Isn't it funny? Eventhough I dunno how to format, but I can easily get ppl to do it for me, and the worst it may only cost me RM50! And somemore I dun have to do it myself. But this RM100 charge by XeLL....I have to do it myself!

Of course I didn't take her advice. She then said that she will have the technician to come over to change a new wireless card for me. Continuous by asking me this.... "What if after changed, and you still have the problem?" Don't you think she is rude as a CSO to ask this question this way? My answer to her is "Then only I will consider your suggestion."

May be XeLL has too much clients abuse the RM400 warranty they have purchased! But so what? We have paid, and this is what you have promised to deliver as the contract. Whether they or if you think me trying to cheat, you can only blame that your company do not have proper system to encounter this problem or the quality of the products an't good. You shouldn't throw fire on me! You got my RM400! I am renew it every year, and this is coming to 4yrs. Already RM1200!

To this CSO....you have to thank god that I didn't file complain about you. To this CSO.....you have to thank god that Xell still my favorite!

The dessert stall at Penang Road

That day I saw a very disgusting act by a hawker which located at outside Kayu Nasi Kandar (already shut down) at Penang Road. The stall selling gandum dessert and run by an Indian fella. It was very jammed during that day, that's so my car was stopped in front of this stall. I was driving Nissan Serena, so my position is tall enough to have a very clear and overall view.

This Indian hawker looks stealthily, that's why he caught my attention. During then, that was a customer just ride (motorcycle) away. One of his hand holding a bowl and in the other hand, he was holding the pot lid. The pot lid is quite big, I think has about 42cm. He was using the lid to hide the bowl in his another hand. But he was not watching at what he is doing, he was actually looking around sneakily, then rapidly poured the "things" from the bowl into the pot (I believe is the left over from the previous customer, as there is a spoon still in the bowl.) Then only turn around to wash the bowl and spoon with the ready-water in the pail behind him.

I told my mom the scenario I saw. She suggested to go and catch him one day. Either one of us pretend to not finish the dessert, and another one of us stand and hide somewhere to take video or photo of what they will try to do. hahaha.....good suggestion!

Great surprise!

I got a most wonderful birthday present ever! Yesterday afternoon before I went swimming with Jovie, I found a nice looking red gauze bag on my table, with a ribbon and a red color card with the shape of a leaf. I almost forgot it was my birthday until I found this little nice looking pressie on my table.

A regard birthday present from my dearest mom. I was touched with this present. A card with “尽多少本分就得多少本事” (The more you work, the more you will get) was hanging on the bag, and there is another card, the birthday greeting card inside with the texts “有愿就有力” (If you have wish, you will have the power) on the envelope. The present is 2 red-dyed eggs! The eggs were still warm when I found it. I didn’t know when was my mom placed inside my room. It is because she was out to attend the Tzu Chi’s course and back at the same time with me. Then we were out together to have lunch. Even though during the lunch, none of them remember it was my birthday, that’s why I myself also forgot about it. Then, after that we have relatives to visit. My mom just too occupied with so many events and yet she is very thoughtful and has the time to come out with this meaningful present.

Dumpling (Glutinuous rice dumpling)

In the lunar calendar, the fifth day of the fifth month, is the dumpling festival (Chinese Duan Wu Festival) and also we called it the Dragon boat festival. Most of the Chinese will make this glutinuous rice dumpling to worship the ancestor or the gods (It is actually say that the chinese make this dumpling to throw into the river to feed the fishes so that its won't eat Qu Yuan's body (a scholar and the minister to the King). Also u will find dragon boat races in the month in everywhere there is Chinese around. It is our Chinese tradition customs.

I had learned from my mom the way to wrap the steamed rice into a dumpling since last year. But few years ago, I did try it when I was living in Suzhou. A bunch of expatriates from Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysia gather in my house to make effort to wrap the dumpling. None of us ever do it before, and it was our first time. However the result came out to be good and we at least enjoy the festive even though away from home. Of course we can buy it anywhere in China, but it is just not our taste. I still remember, the dumpling make by duck egg york, chestnut (may be not, can't really recall), pork, mushroom, and dried scallop (this one may be not, can't really recall). We boiled and cooked the dumpling for around 4 hours, and still remember instead of staying at home to wait for the dumpling ready, we just leave it cooking and went for a massage at opposite my apartment. The dumplings were ready to eat after our massage! It taste yummy but the shape is a bit odd. :p

I just manage to pass the "test" of making dumpling last year, too bad that I lost the chance to "review" it this year. My mom was doing it in weekday and I was working. This year, my mom was making lesser, that's why she didn't need our help. Previous year, she usually make 100pcs of vegetarian dumpling for charity purpose, and around 50pcs for family members. Last year, my sister in law came back to help, she is very good and fast in wrapping the dumpling. This year, she just come back to enjoy the festival as mom didn't need out help at all.

Giant baby in the baby stroller??

This was what I encountered when I was living in Guangzhou, China. Of course there are many funny things, but this is the most "outstanding" beside those funny english restaurant menu or road signs found in China. It was 2 yrs plus ago, and I am not sure whether are they still practising it or not?

In Jul 2006......

Woman is multi-purpose

I have finally completely understand how tough my mother is. She has to take care of all of us, my baby, and also my grandma. Although she has a maid, but the maid is helping her to accompany my grandma, and also do the cleaning. Her day starts at 6am and end at sometimes midnite, but the earliest is around 11pm, everyday including weekend.

My mom has to wake up in 6am, taking care of my grandma's lunch and heat up the left over dishes for her lunch, and also getting prepare of the things that she has to carry to the office. After she done with the kitchen, she take her morning bath at around 7am+. She is also our alarm clock. She will morning call my brother at 7.30am, then my father at 7.45am, and me at 8am. Preparing my dad's breakfast, and serve my dad until he went to work. Then help me to either look after my baby so that I can get ready to go to work, or she will bath for my baby. We will go out together to have breakfast in the market. After she has done with the marketing, we go to my dad's office to work. After work at around 6pm (my dad doesn't allow us to go off sharp at 5.30pm), she has to rush home to cook dinner for all of us. She has to prepare the dinner that suit all of us! My grandma and my dad is very choosy, and both taste are different, therefore you have to imagine how mentally tough that my mom has to be? After the dinner, she finally can sit down to rest, my still I always letting her to take care of my little one so that I can get online with friends. My dad always watch the channels which is not her preference.

Today, I finally realized how tough my mother is! She went to the Tibet trip with my dad, and therefore I have to be responsible to this family. My turn to worry about what kind of dishes I have to prepare for my grandma's lunch and dinner. Due to she has just discharge from Hospital, and her body is still weak, hence there is certain foods are not suitable for her. But due to she is very extremely choosy, therefore I headache!

After work, I have to rush home for my grandma's dinner. She has to take dinner earlier than her ordinary dinner with us previously. We usually have dinner at 8pm, but according to her "I am a patient", she requested to have it no later than 7.30pm. I reached home at around 6.30pm, once my car reach the house door, I straight away go to kitchen (the situation is kind of like going to battllefield), the maid will come to me for loading my stuff and my baby. After done with the dinner, I have to give medi to my grandma (there is one she has to take it before meal), and then I go shower, then bath for my baby, and then take dinner with my grandma. Luckily the maid will help me to feed my little one. My grandma needs medi again after dinner. She will go to bed afterward, so I have to take care of her while she is walking to upstair until she on her bed. Then I have to wake up at 6.30am to bath for my grandma too. Then walk her downstair after this, and make a cup of coffee for her. After this, I have to buy her breakfast, prepare her lunch (I have to prepare her lunch before I go to work.) and also her tea break. Once my grandma go to bed, I have to return to my baby, and the maid has to go to room immediately as she sleep with my grandma so that she can look after her thorough the night. I felt very tired, physically and mentally tired, I really can not understand how does my mom cope? Beside this family, she also do a lot of charity works.......

I am missing my mom, wish that she is her with me. I think she is a super woman.

The Sign Language contest

The contest held in 9 May at 8pm. All of us had back to Jing Shi Tang (the hall, the venue) for the final rehearsal. During our ordinary practise, our attendance rate are terribly awful, sometimes you can even find 50% are missing. Most of the members have their jobs need to secure and also their family to take care. I was lucky to have my mom to take care of my little one. But there is few times I also brought my little one to my practise, I wanted her to involve since small.

I felt very glad that to see everyone came to the final rehearsal. The first time, I saw everybody present! This is team work! Surprisingly, all of them seem to be improved over the night! The previous practise before this final rehearsal, they were still not even up to 50% know the signs of the whole piece of sutra.

During the contest, not only myself surprised with our performance, our team's photographer and also one of our instructor were shocked and happy to see our excellent performance! We were so in order! Although we didn't win any prizes, but well, we had done our best! We learned a lot from the beginning of the practises till the end of the competition. This is what we won, don't ya?

Busy week

Wesak day is just around the corner, hence we are getting busy. Everyone has their own duty on each day. I will be participating the coming “Sign language” competition on Saturday (9 May) night and also on duty as a “journalist” on 10 May morning during the “Buddha bathing” session.
Practices and rehearsal for the sign language competition will be fall in this week. Besides, there are meetings and discussion about the duties in these two big days, 9th and 10th of May. I am still not that smooth on my sign language, so, a lot of self-practice at home, hopefully I will be ok by the day, as I will be standing at the place in front, kind of stress. By the way, in previous practices, I was kind of piss with one of the instructor or even refused to listen to her instruction, cause I found her sign language and instructions were wrong and confused. First, she doesn’t really good in sign-language. She sometimes teaches us wrongly, that confused us, after being corrected by other seniors. Secondly, she never follows up on every after-practice. I thought she has already noted down the person name with the position that has been allocated, but in the following practice, she forgot, and blame us for not having team work spirit, keep asking us to be cooperated. Because of her skill-less, we have asked another senior in for help in arranging our position. Again, she simply corrected our position to what she thinks is nice and without inform or discuss with that senior. After the senior found out where we are standing were so wrong….u see! This is what she confused us. Until that day, I have had enough and stand out to stop her, then only she noticed it. But still, she refused to admit her fault and again, against me by saying me not having team work spirit. Sigh…..

Forget about the unhappiness, end of the day, I still have to accept her and continue to practice together with her. Well, there is one thing I am very exciting about is being a journalist during the “Buddha Bathing” session. I supposed to attend the training before I am qualified to take up this task, but due to short of hands and also running out of time, my leader assigned me this task! Luckily there is a senior will guide me, and before that, I have already got the samples and a format from the previous reports that I can learn from. Not too bad after all! Will wait and see my result!

Great Love Light Up the World 爱洒人间

I recently had watch a drama by Tzu Chi Foundation's Da Ai TV Channel and is based on real people and real event. The story that I recently watched is about a Taiwanese businessman who is a devoutness muslim and living in Turkey, and of course he is also a member of Tzu Chi Foundation (http://www.tzuchi.org/global/). He is from a muslim family in Taiwan; however his mom before married to his dad is a Catholic. Not only his mom wasn't a muslim and his wife was a Taoist (Yi Guan Dao) too. What an interesting family!

From this drama, I have learn about some of the muslim's practice such as they are not allow to squat for anybody except Allah, not even their own parent. Their daily practice of praying. Their purpose of praying. Why only Halal foods are allow to eat? Their reason of believe in Allah. I am inspired with what they are practicing, this is the way we should be practiced no matter what religion we are or no matter we have a religion or not.

Interesting about this drama is......the director of this drama is Christian, the real person in this story is Muslim, and this drama was shot in Turkey, a muslim country, and Tzu Chi Foundation's based is Buddhism. Mr.Hu, the person of this story, he is the person in-charge of Tzu Chi Foundation in Istanbul, Turkey, and he is still a devoutness muslim. He claimed that Allah is sending him to help the people who needs his help thru Tzu Chi Foundation. That's why he is with Tzu Chi. Therefore there is no conflict of interest at all. The bottom line is to help people who needs help! When Arabian (Mr.Hu speak fluent Arabian, he was graduated from Lybia) meet Chinese, when "Great love light up the world" meet the Turkish secret servant (Mr.Hu was once being suspected as a terrorist due to he speak Arabian after 911 incident, and being kidnapped by the secret servant), when different religion, different culture, different races meet at once.......this is what this drama about.

He has inpired with the action taken by Tzu Chi in 21 Sept 1999 earthquake in Turkey. He was there, he was also involve in the charity works, caring the victims and the family, distribution of tents and blankets, building up the houses and school for the victims, and lot more. He learn about the selfless contribution to those who has not related to Tzu Chi. He has also learn that Tzu Chi's great love doesn't care about what religion, which culture, or where is the country, they will give their helping hands to whoever needs them. Eversince then, he has built up his Tzu Chi career, and therefore become the in-charge person in Turkey.

Till today, Tzu Chi is everywhere in the world. There is also another story about the person in-charged in San Jose, USA. We are lucky that Penang is the HQ of Tzu Chi Foundation in Malaysia. So that it is easier and convenient for me to learn more about Tzu Chi thru their activities.

Note :
"Great Love Light up the world" is the song by Tzu Chi. Later, had translated into Arabian by Mr.Hu.

Grandma has admitted

My eye is tiring, my brain is blank.....this is the result of 2 hours sleep in the entire night. My grandma wasn't feeling well therefore we have to send her to emergency at 2.30am.

She had vomitted few times since 6pm, after back from local clinic, she didn't have anything to her stomach. I woke up in the midnite to check about the noise outside my room. Noticed that my grandma didn't improve at all, and needed help to go to toilet. Me and my mom were trying to carry her to the toilet, hence I felt the heat from her body. I used my baby's thermometer to check and got shock that she was at 40.4 degree celcius. I called up my cousin for help together to send her to the emergency.......I believe she is also with the "Panda eye" in the office now.

Reached hospital at 3am and done and leave hospital at almost 5am. After the check up by the MO, she then transfered to HDU. Her blood pressure is at 200+! We went back to visit her this morning, the doc said, her heart's vein got clog. She is too old for operation, doc said the medi can help, but need to stay one more night in the HDU for monitoring.

Hopefully she can be out by tomorrow.
